History

China Nerin Engineering Co., Ltd. (Nanchang Engineering & Research Institute of Nonferrous Metals), formerly known as Jiangxi Metallurgical Institute, was founded in October 1957, attached to Jiangxi Metallurgical Industry Administration.

In October 1962, Ministry of Metallurgical Industry decided to rename Jiangxi Metallurgical Institute as Nanchang Engineering & Research Institute of Nonferrous Metals, under the leadership of the Jiangxi Nonferrous Metals Industry Administration, practicing the management system of dual leadership of the Ministry and province taking the ministry leadership as the core. Its business scopes extended from non-ferrous and ferrous metal enterprises to non-ferrous metal mines in East China.

In June 1965, Ministry of Metallurgical Industry made a decision to change the management system to the direct leadership of the Ministry of Metallurgy Industry as the public institution directly under the Ministry.

In June 1970, Ministry of Metallurgical Industry transferred the management power to Jiangxi Province, implementing the dual leadership of the province and the Ministry taking the provincial management as the core.

In December 1978, Ministry of Metallurgical Industry renewed the management system to the dual relationship of Jiangxi Province and Ministry of Metallurgy and being the Ministry oriented. At the same time, it was clearly stated that appointment and removal of administrative leaders and cadres of the institute are handled by the Ministry with the examination and approval procedures after the unanimous agreements reached by and between the Ministry and the provincial commission; and the appointment and dismissal of administrative cadres above the level of deputy director, vice chief engineer and technical cadres above the level of Grade 6 engineers are managed by the Ministry.

In August 1979, Ministry of Metallurgical Industry determined to name Nanchang Non-ferrous Metallurgy Design Institute as Nanchang Engineering & Research Institute of Nonferrous Metals (hereinafter referred to as Nanchang Institute).

In October 1981, the State Council decided to set up State Bureau of Nonferrous Metal Industry. Nanchang Institute was under the leadership and management of State Bureau of Nonferrous Metal Industry allocated by Ministry of Metallurgical Industry, implementing the dual leadership of the Bureau and Jiangxi Province, and taking the Bureau management as the core.

In March 1983, the State Council determined to found China National Non-ferrous Metals Industry Corporation on the basis of State Bureau of Nonferrous Metal Industry. Nanchang Institute became the public institution directly under China National Non-ferrous Metals Industry Corporation.

In June 1984, China National Non-ferrous Metals Industry Corporation agreed Nanchang Institute to carry out the techno-economic contract responsibility system regarding the implementation of the onerous contract system as the main contents.

In April 1985, China National Non-ferrous Metals Industry Corporation determined Nanchang Institute as the regional and municipal unit after the negotiation with the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government.

In March 1987, China National Non-ferrous Metals Industry Corporation made consent to Nanchang Institute that it would practice the Dean Responsibility System officially from April 1987 and be compiled with 1255 staff.

In June 1989, total quality control of Nanchang Institute was inspected and accepted by the special inspection team of China National Non-ferrous Metals Industry Corporation.

In January 1990, the work council of the subordinate organization of CPC Jiangxi Province decided to conduct its direct management for the party's organizational relations of Nanchang Institute.

In May 1992, Jiangxi Administration of Industry and Commerce officially issued Business License of Legal Entity to Nanchang Institute.

In April 1998, the State Council decided to dissolve China National Non-ferrous Metals Industry Corporation and founded State Nonferrous Metals Industry Administration, and then Nanchang Institute became the public institutions directly under State Nonferrous Metals Industry Administration.

In July 1998, through the examination and verification of Great Wall Centre of Quality Assurance of China (Tianjin), and upon the approval of the State Administration of Quality Supervision Committee, Nanchang institute was granted ISO9001 Quality System Certifications covering engineering design (including environmental impact assessment), engineering consulting, engineering prime contract, engineering construction and supervision.

In June 1999, the State Council approved to found China Copper Lead Zinc Corporation and Nanchang Institute was one of its member units.

In June 2000, the State Council decided to withdraw China Copper Lead and Zinc Group. From July 2000, the former central non-ferrous metal enterprises and institutions were decentralized for local management, and Nanchang Institute was placed under Jiangxi Province and implemented the localized management.

In October 2000, the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government identified Nanchang Institute as the public institution on the department level subordinate to Jiangxi Province, implementing the cooperation management. The party of the institute is attached to the work council of the subordinate organization of CPC Jiangxi Province, and thus its party work is in the charge of the council.

In July 2003, engineering quality supervision and industry development department of the Ministry of Construction announced Nanchang Institute selected in Top 100 units of National Engineering Survey and Design in 2002 and rated No. 87.
In January 2004, Assistant chief engineer Zhang Wenhai of Nanchang Institute was elected as the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

In March 2004, Nanchang Institute was awarded the ninth civilized unit (2002-2003) of Jiangxi Province by Jiangxi Provincial CPC Committee and Jiangxi People's Government.

In May 2004, agreed by the Provincial Government, the General Office of Jiangxi People's Government publicized Nanchang Institute as one of the enterprise authorized by the Provincial Government and sponsored by State Property Management Commission of Jiangxi Province.

In July 2004, engineering quality supervision and industry development department of the Ministry of Construction announced Nanchang Institute being selected in Top 100 units of National Engineering Survey and Design in 2003 and rated No. 82.

In August 2004, Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee decided to allocate the party's membership credentials of Nanchang Institute to the party committee of State Property Management Commission of Jiangxi Province.

In March 2007, the governor Wu Xinxiong hosted the 57th meeting of standing committee of Jiangxi Government and discussed and agreed in principle the restructuring proposal of Nanchang Engineering & Research Institute of Nonferrous Metals.

In April 2007, Nanchang Institute signed Strategic cooperation agreement with China Nonferrous Metal Industry’s Foreign Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd..

In April 2007, the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province formally approved the restructuring proposal of Nanchang Institute in principle.

In July 2007, Nanchang Institute and Sinosteel Corporation signed Cooperative Agreement on Share Ownership.
In December 2007, the establishment ceremony of China Nerin Engineering Co., Ltd. was held in Nanchang Institute, and the first board of directors and board of supervisors was elected.

In December 2007, China Nerin Engineering Co., Ltd. held the opening ceremony in Nanchang, and vice Governor of Jiangxi People's Government Hong Lihe and chairman of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association Kang Yi declared its inauguration.
